| Two month check-up |
[22 Mar 2007|01:49am] |
Tegan got four shots and an oral vaccine. The screaming ended as soon as the milk touched her lips and she was fine the rest of the day. The doctor said the curve on her growth chart is great and that she hasn't been stunted by prematurity. [other then being smaller obviously] Her birth weight was 4lbs 5 oz and she was 17 inches long. She's now 8lbs 8oz and 21.5 inches long. About 2 lbs and 2 inches gain per month. She's such a strong little girl! Finally moved into size 1 diapers.
I'll have pictures soon, I can't upload them on this computer.

| 1 Month Check-Up |
[23 Feb 2007|04:58am] |
Tegan had her 1 month check-up today. She now weighs 6lbs 12.5oz! She also grew two inches so she's now 19 inches long. At 6 weeks babies have a growth spurt so she'll be 7lbs in no time. The doctor said I should bottle my breast milk and sell it haha. She's met all her 1 month mile marks even though she's a preemie. I got those good genes.
Some recent things:
First tub bath.

Learning what thumbs are for.

Striking a pose.

She really likes to pet her hair.

Making weird faces.

Okay, time to pimp out my daughter. She's filling out day by day and it's so neat to watch her grow bigger and stronger. I can't help but wonder what she'll look like on her due date [Feb. 25th] Monday we went to the doctors for her irritated eye and she weighed in at 4lbs 11oz! She put on 5oz in 2 days. I make that good milk.

Baby likes good things. Like lemon-poppyseed bread and Sufjan Stevens. Put the two together and she'll boogy in me for an hour!

| November Sonogram. |
[02 Dec 2006|04:49am] |
This is the sonogram from November 27th. She's 2lbs 4oz and still in breech position. The hematoma hasn't gotten any larger and isn't affecting anything so they're not going to moniter it anymore. I have a 3rd trimester check up on the 15th. Oh, and all my blood work was perfect! Everything's a-okay, just really hoping I don't have to get a c-section.

| Placental Hematoma |
[17 Nov 2006|04:49am] |
I'm going back for a second sonogram on Monday, November 27th [10 days] Apparently my last sonogram showed a subchorionic placental hematoma. You can try to google it but you won't find much. My doctor speaks farsi and broken english so I was a bit confused myself. From what I've read it's almost a cyst like lesion that can lead to miscarriage, premature birth and/or the seperation of the placenta from the uterus. Most subchorionic placental hematomas are found between 7-10 weeks, when most first sonograms are taken. Vaginal bleeding is usually the first indicator but I haven't expierenced any type of vaginal bleeding during my pregnancy.
My baby's also in a breech position. About 25% of pregnancies are with baby in breech position at 28 weeks gestation. I'm at 26 weeks and one day, so she has some time to turn her ass around, and I guess in most cases the baby does. I'm just worried I'll go into premature labor because breech position and placental hematomas are both increase this risk.
Man, oh man... wish me luck.

Some women have very few symptoms of pregnancy in the first few months, and only truly feel like a mum-to-be when the 'bump' becomes obvious.
